Members are broken into three categories – active, exempt, and probationary. Active members must be at least 20 years old and are required to meet a minimum percentage of calls, meetings, and trainings in order to stay on the active roster. Exempt members are those that have served a minimum of 12 years on the active roster, and are exempt from the minimum percentage requirements. New members start out as probationary members until they are officially voted in as full active members.
There is a Junior Company which is sponsored by Madison Hose. These members are between agres 17-20 and assist our crews at emergency scenes, while maintaining a safe distance from dangerous areas. They assist our active members in multiple ways such as swapping air bottles in SCBAs at fires as well as cleaning equipment and apparatus.
